As Guadagno Goes With Rendo, Medina Looks Towards His Future

As Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno announced Woodcliff Lake Mayor Carlos Rendo as her LG candidate in Hudson County this morning, Carlos Medina released a statement looking towards his own future while wishing both gubernatorial candidates success during the general election.

Medina said, “first and foremost, I am a Jersey guy – born, raised and educated.  I’m proud of growing up, attending college, getting my law degree and growing a successful business in New Jersey.” Serving as the Chair of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, he honed in on his business background, saying “I wake up every day with enthusiasm to not only run my business, but also volunteer my time to help the New Jersey business community.”

Over the last few weeks, it boiled down to Carlos v. Carlos as decision-time came down to the wire.  In the end, Guadagno went with Rendo, a name first reported by Insider NJ, as was Medina.

“It is an honor to have been considered for the Lieutenant Governor post.  It reflects New Jersey’s rich diversity, and recognition of the value small and diverse businesses contribute to the State.  I wish both Kim Guadagno and Phil Murphy success in their campaigns, and hope they will both focus on the removal of obstacles faced by small businesses in New Jersey,” said Medina.  “I thank all my “Familia” for their support!

  1. Thank you Mr. Medina for always advocating for NJ small businesses and all Latinos. You would have made a far better choice for LG. It looks like Republicans will continue to stick with the old conservative Cuban base. Her choice adds nothing to her ticket.
