TOMS RIVER – Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno focused on Republican Party unity in her remarks to the Ocean County Republican Committee tonight.

“I’m not going to criticize the other Republicans,” said Guadagno, the front-runner for the GOP nomination.

She won some laughs by turning her attention to former Goldman Sachs executive, the Democrats’ front-runner. “The one who’s going to win – the one who has $2o million in the bank,” the LG said. “He’s promised everyone everything. His favorite word is ‘yes.’ He is to the left of Bernie Sanders.”

Guadagno presented herself as someone who knows how hard it is to balance a budget in New Jersey, and burnished her record as a small business advocate.

As for Democrat Murphy, “He’s going to raise your taxes,” said the LG. ‘That’s where the fight is.”

The former prosecutor and former Monmouth County sheriff also talked tough to appreciate laughs.

“Never underestimate someone who carried a gun and wore a bulletproof vest,” Guadagno said.
