Gusciora and Perez in the Trenton Runoff
Reed Gusciora and Paul Perez tonight made the mayoral runoff election in Trenton, edging Mercer County Deputy Clerk Walker Worthy.
It was close.
Pins and needles all night.
But Walker finally conceded.
“The establishment – such as it is – is going to coalesce around Reed Gusciora and he will be the next mayor of Trenton,” Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes told InsiderNJ.
Unofficially, there was a two percent difference between Worthy and Gusciora for second place behind Perez, who was also in the 2014 runoff, losing to Eric Jackson.
Perez beat Gusciora by about 500 votes.
Darren Green proved the spoiler in the contest, according to Trenton war room drift.
Reed Gusciora 1,833 votes, 20.76%
