Hahn: ‘The Party is In Good Hands with Shariq’

Defeated tonight by Shariq Ahmad for the chairmanship of the powerful Edison Democratic Committee six days after he lost 20 of his county committee people in the Democratic Primary elections, Keith Hahn accepted his fate with friendly acquiescence.

“I always knew I was a transitional guy,” Hahn told Insider after losing by one vote to Ahmad. “The party is in good hands with Shariq.”

The result tonight could not have been more of a photo finish, as county committee members looked on asthe final vote for Ahmad broke the 70 to 70 tie.

As soon as the voting officially closed, three people walked into the Pines Manor.

“One was his, one was mine, and the last was up for grabs,” Hahn said.
