Larry Hamm, the Princeton University-educated Newark political activist and head of the People’s Organization for Progress (POP) will back Bernie Sanders for president, he told supporters on his Facebook page.

“Should Bernie Sanders announce his candidacy for President of the United States in the Democratic Primary, I will personally endorse and support him in 2020 as I did in 2016, and I will urge all voters to do the same,” Hamm said earlier this week.

On the same day that the Vermont senator formally entered the 2020 race for president, Hamm reiterated his support when asked by InsiderNJ.

Like Analilia Mejia of Working Families, Hamm also backed Sanders for president in 2016.
