According to unofficial results, Thomas Bushnauskas won the Democratic 2019 Primary Election nomination against the organization candidate for Hawthorne NJ’s 2nd Ward.

Bushnauskas won at the polls by 4 votes (43-39), and lost the VBMs by one, putting the unofficial total at 53-50.

He will go on to the general election in November and face GOP candidate Rayna Laiosa in an open contest; incumbent GOP Councilman opted against seeking re-election this year.
