Healey Receives PBA Backing
Burlington County business owner and CD-3 congressional challenger Bob Healey today issued the following statement:
“I am extremely honored and privileged to receive the endorsement of the PBA today. This support is especially significant because I am the challenger in this campaign and support from such a significant group as the PBA most often goes to the incumbent congressman.”
In making the endorsement, Pat Colligan, president of the NJ PBA, remarked, “The new 3rd District needs a new voice in Washington. Your experience in business and in your community will be a great benefit to the people in the State.”
Colligan added, “…[Y]our strong commitment to support law enforcement in Washington and stand against efforts to weaken it has earned our support. We know you will go to DC and reject efforts to punish cops instead of criminals while fighting for the resources that the Departments in your Districts need….”
“I am deeply concerned about where we are and where we are headed as a country, and a big part of that is how so-called political ‘leaders’ on the left have so callously maligned and scapegoated law enforcement,” said Republican challenger Healey. “They’ve made it harder for these brave men and women to do their jobs, to keep us safe, and to protect themselves in doing so. It’s unconscionable.”
Healey added: “My opponent, Andy Kim, and his colleagues in the Washington, DC progressive caucus have championed insane policies like ‘defunding the police’ and pushed laws eliminating qualified immunity. Let me be clear: Our police don’t deserve to be attacked and maligned by ‘woke’ politicians who are pushing policies that enable the bad guys and disable the good guys. Enough. It stops now.”
