HILLSIDE – The Hillside Municipal Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Angela R. Garretson to fill the vacated seat for 2nd Ward, effective January 17, 2025.

Dr. Garretson expressed gratitude to her fellow council members for their support. She notably thanked Council President Craig Epps, Council Member at Large Lisa Bonanno, 1st Ward Council Member Andrea Hyatt, and 4th Ward Council Member David Feuerstein for their confidence in her leadership.

“I am deeply honored to serve the 2nd Ward residents and contribute to the betterment of Hillside as a whole,” said Dr. Garretson. “My commitment to this community is unwavering, and I will leverage my experience and resources to foster positive change.”

A four-decade resident of Hillside, Dr. Garretson brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her new role. Her distinguished career includes service as a School Board Member, Council Member, Mayor, and County Commissioner. Currently, she serves as the Chief Officer for Public and Community Affairs at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Dr. Garretson looks forward to collaborating with government officials and engaging with residents to address community needs effectively.
