Stevens & Lee announced today that Gregg H. Hilzer has joined the firm as Co-Chair of the Cannabis Law Group in the firm’s Princeton, NJ, office.

A highly regarded cannabis law attorney, Mr. Hilzer also represents clients in white collar criminal defense, complex commercial litigation and federal and state regulatory matters.

Mr. Hilzer has guided cannabis clients through the licensing process for both medical and adult-use in New Jersey and New York, and has worked on numerous financial transactions for both operators and investors in the cannabis space.

Also an experienced litigator, Mr. Hilzer defends clients in white collar criminal investigations, prosecutions and matters involving allegations of fraud, commercial bribery and violations of the False Claim Act. He also represents financial institutions, multinational corporations, public entities, closely held businesses and individuals in complex litigation matters before the state and federal courts of New Jersey and New York, and before various regulators including the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance, New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners and New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics.

Prior to his career in private practice, Mr. Hilzer served as law clerk to The Honorable David B. Rand in the Morris County Superior Court. He earned his LL.M., magna cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law, his J.D. from Penn State Dickinson School of Law and his B.A., cum laude, from Lehigh University.
