From Hudson County:

As of Wednesday March 25th, there are 260 positive tests of COVID-19 in Hudson County.

Three deaths are attributed to the virus.

At the County’s mass testing site at Hudson Regional Hospital, testing is steadily ramping up: 88 people were tested Monday, 105 on Tuesday and 173 today with 29 no shows for appointments. That number is expected to stabilize at about 200 per day going forward.

Hudson Regional Health has issued a call for volunteers with medical and non medical training in an effort to reduce pressure on existing staff.

30 inmates serving sentences of less than one year at the County Corrections & Rehabilitation Center were released yesterday under a state directive from the State. Two inmates are quarantined in the facility, one was released from quarantine. No detainees or staff have thus far tested positive.

Hudson County has contracted with three local motel operators to temporarily house higher-risk homeless individuals (older, immunocompromised) who might otherwise visit the County Warming Center in South Kearny. This diversion will allow the warming center to continue to function but decrease significantly density of visitors at the Center.

County parks remain open but all bathrooms, playgrounds, courts and picnic areas are closed. Park dog runs (social distancing) and the golf course, (no carts, no bathrooms, social distancing) remain open.

The NJDOH cites 441 cases in the county as of Thursday afternoon.

As of 2pm Thursday March 26th, the state’s COVID-19 case count is 6,876 and 81 fatalities.
