Hudson By The Numbers: Sizing Up Stack/Fulop Versus Sacco/DeGise

Hudson County has a total population of around 630,000 residents.

In DeGise’s corner is North Bergen, Bayonne, Guttenberg, East Newark, Secaucus, Kearny, and Harrison.  That’s around 207,000 of Hudson’s total population.  All of those towns are in Sacco’s LD32, with the exception of Bayonne, which is in Cunningham’s LD31, which also includes a sizable portion of Fulop’s Jersey City.

Stack and Fulop have Union City, Jersey City, Hoboken, and West New York.  That’s around 413,000 of Hudson’s total population.  All of those towns, with the exception of West New York, are in Stack’s LD33.  West New York is in Sacco’s LD32.

Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner hasn’t committed publicly yet, but Weehawken has 12,000 residents.  Weehawken is in Stack’s LD33, but veteran incumbent Turner also serves as Rep. Sires’ district director.  Sires is with DeGise.
