The Advocacy & Management Group (AMG) — one of Trenton’s premier government relations and association management firms — announced today that Rebecca Hughes will join the firm as Vice President in March 2024.  Hughes joins AMG from the Senate Republican Office, where she is a Deputy Director of Research for Republican Leader Anthony Bucco and the Senate Republican Caucus.

“Rebecca’s deep legislative policy background will be a huge asset to the firm, and we are so pleased to welcome her as Vice President,” said AJ Sabath, President/CEO of the Advocacy & Management Group. “We are looking forward to Rebecca sharing her years’ of experience in state government to help AMG clients navigate the challenging labyrinth of state government.”

“I am excited to join such a talented team of government affairs professionals on State Street,” said Hughes. “I look forward to helping AMG clients meet the challenges of the legislative session, and I owe a debt of gratitude to the amazing individuals with whom I have worked on both sides of the aisle at the State Capitol.”

Rebecca has spent close to a decade working in legislative affairs.  Most recently, she served as the Deputy Research Director at the New Jersey State Senate Republican Office.  In her tenure there, she has served multiple Republican leaders and has worked in the development and advancement of many important policy initiatives. Further, in this role, she helped lead the research staff and has served as the subject matter expert on education and environmental policy for the Republican Senate Caucus.

She earned her Master’s degree in Public Policy from Monmouth University and her Bachelor’s degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey.  Rebecca was elected in 2023 to the township committee, where she resides in Chesterfield with her husband, kids, and rescue dogs.
