The statewide COVID-19 count stands at 880,635 cases and 23,170 fatalities (and 127,441 probable cases and 2,640 probable fatalities) as of Monday (an increase of 459 cases and 10 fatalities from the previous day). The viral transmission rate is .94. There have been 8,010,461 COVID-19 vaccinations administered (with 3,631,133 people fully vaccinated).

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 51 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 48,721 in Camden County today and 1,187 total fatalities.
“Yesterday’s announcement by the CDC marks a major turning point in this pandemic. Although we still must adhere to our state’s restrictions, a light can finally be seen on the horizon,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “Mask wearing has become an unbelievably simple way to protect ourselves from this virus, but the data now shows that fully vaccinated people can safely remove their masks in most situations. The ability to safely remove your mask, to join in reopening festivities more broadly, is just one more reason to get vaccinated if you haven’t already.”
The Department of Health is announcing 51 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
To date, 437,061 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Camden County. There are 248,384 people with at least one vaccine dose, and 207,004 people who are fully vaccinated.
For vaccine information on where, when, who, and how, please visit capemaycountynj.gov. The New Jersey Health Department reports that 50,505 Cape May County residents have received at least one vaccine dose and 42,733 have been fully vaccinated. Cape May County has consistently led the State in per capita administration of the COVID vaccine.
Today will mark Cape May County’s final daily COVID press release. Daily numbers will continue to be updated at the Cape May County Department of Health’s dashboard, capemaycountynj.gov/1418/Covid-19-Dashboard. There will be weekly reports released every Friday to recap the updates with COVID-19 in the County over the past seven days. Cape May County is currently at 56% of its adult population fully vaccinated. The County is ahead of the Statewide average that went over 50% fully vaccinated for adults on Sunday. Cape May County also reported its best week of new COVID cases this year. The County’s Department of Health reported 99 new cases from May 3 to May 9, the first time the County was below 100 new cases in a seven-day period this year. This was down 7% from the week prior.
The Cape May County Department of Health will have availability for walk-ins on Wednesday, May 12th for those looking for the COVID vaccine. The location of the vaccination clinic is the Avalon Community Center, which is located at 3001 Avalon Ave. Walk-in times are 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Anyone who comes to the Avalon Community Center on Wednesday will have the choice between the single dose Johnson & Johnson or the Moderna. If an individual selects Moderna, a second dose will be automatically scheduled. Both vaccines are only eligible for individuals 18 years old and up. Anyone who is 16 or 17 years old must find another site that provides the Pfizer vaccine. Appointments can also be made through New Jersey’s Vaccination website.
The Cape May County Department of Health is announcing today that 4 new positive test samples were collected among County residents over the past several days. While Cape May County has recorded 8677 COVID-19 cases during the pandemic, 8335 of those are now off quarantine.
Sadly, we are announcing the passing of an 87-year-old male from Middle Township, “My condolences to the entire family”, said Cape May County Commissioner Director Gerald M. Thornton.

Monmouth County has 51 additional positive cases of COVID-19
FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone and County Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley have announced that today, May 14, there are 51 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County. There are zero new deaths being reported today related to COVID-19 in Monmouth County.
Monmouth County now has COVID-19 vaccines available at Brookdale Community College with no appointment necessary. The Brookdale vaccination site will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. Vaccines are available for residents who are at least 18 years old and live, work or attend school in Monmouth County. The County-operated sites administer the Moderna vaccine, which is not approved for anyone under the age of 18. For more information, go to www.visitmonmouth.com.
Monmouth County will offer free COVID-19 testing on Wednesday, May 19 in Neptune from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Neptune Senior Center located at 1607 State Route 33. Visitors should note the clinic has 200 tests and once those are administered, the clinic will close for the day.
Information about the County’s COVID-19 testing program is available on www.visitmonmouth.com. Residents are encouraged to fill out the testing requisition form ahead of testing in order to expedite the process.
The County Commissioners and the Monmouth County Health Department (MCHD) are reminding residents to do their part to slow the spread by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering when social distancing is not possible, not gathering in large crowds, washing their hands and staying home when sick.
