  1. Should this bill be introduced and more, yes.
    Should Senator Booker be introducing it, no. It should be Senator Scott.

  2. Tearing down statues does not erase the past or change history. It’s merely a half-hearted attempt to hide it, to censor history, and that’s just plain wrong.

    Where do we draw the line? Who gets to decide what is appropriate and what is not, what can remain and what must be destroyed? The very man who drafted our Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson, not only bought, sold and kept slaves, he fathered illegitimate children with them. Should we tear up the Declaration of Independence in shame? Destroy all the nickels and two dollar bills bearing his image?

    C’mon America, we’re bigger than this. Instead of trying to forget the bad parts of our history, we should be concentrating on making sure they never happen again!
