I agree with you. The statement should read “Mayor Wilda Diaz because she represents a 7-1 Democratic advantage town, has executive experience having transformed her city from the brink of bankruptcy to an example of urban renewal. She also has statewide recognition as the President of the NJ Urban Mayors Association and is a prolific campaigner with a great message and story.”
That’s the only thing she’s got going for her. She only has a high school education, is a terrible speaker, but it would be great to get her out of P. A.
Perhaps now that we are likely to have a Governor who won’t spend every moment thinking about running for president, may be it is time to end this experiment. Instead, since we have modern communications, the Governor is the Governor wherever they are. But, if a Governor does die, resign or is unable to perform their duties then the Senate President becomes Governor and leaves the Senate. If the Senate President is unwilling/unable to do that, then it is the Assembly Speaker and so on. Have an election in November for the remainder of the term if it happens before Labor Day of the year before the regular election. Then, we don’t have the revolving door of “governors” which does make us look silly.
how bout JJ.
Jim Johnson!
Wilda Diaz? Because she is a Latino? Since when is this a qualification?
