InsiderNJ is pulling for our friend, New Jersey native Shaun Clarida, in the legendary Mr. Olympia contest in Las Vegas this week.

“We’re out here now,” Clarida said via cellphone moments ago on the eve of the official start to the event.

Born in Hackensack and a resident of Clifton, Clarida, nicknamed the Giant Killer, will compete in the 212 division, with finals on Saturday night.

At 5’2″, and 170 lbs, he is the shortest and lightest competitor in the 212 lb. division.

“This is my fourth time in the competition, and every year I’ve gotten better,” Clarida said. “My first year I didn’t place, in 2016 I came in 13th, and last year I came in ninth. This year I’ve improved and I’m a little bigger than last year.”
