Iowa GOP Governor Upgrades Coastal New Jersey to American Public Enemy
Apparently, New Jersey’s moving up in the world.
In her official Republican response to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union Speech tonight, self-proclaimed “Iowa nice” Gov. Kim Reynolds lumped Jersey in with New York and California as the holy trinity of “Democrat-controlled states.”
From Reynolds’ speech:
“But you don’t have to check groceries to see what high inflation does to people. You just need to step outside the D.C. Bubble. Talk to Americans about what’s on their mind. Ask them: What are your concerns? What keeps you up at night?
“They’ll tell you, and I can tell you what’s not on that list.
“They won’t tell you that spending trillions more and bankrupting their children is the answer to their problems.
“They won’t tell you that we should be paying people not to work.
“And they certainly won’t tell you that we should give billions in tax giveaways to millionaires and billionaires in Democrat-controlled states like California, New York, and New Jersey.”
In making her case, the Republican Governor decried the leadership of Biden, and assessed the country as worse now than it was a year ago, when, incidentally, a mob incited by then-President Donald J. Trump desecrated the United States Capitol.
In the middle of an international crisis, Biden in his speech focused on America’s alliance with NATO in repelling Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine; and finished with an appeal to the core ideals of America.
“My fellow Americans—tonight , we have gathered in a sacred space—the citadel of our democracy,” said Biden, the same space where his predecessor unleashed a mob. “In this Capitol, generation after generation, Americans have debated great questions amid great strife, and have done great things.
“We have fought for freedom, expanded liberty, defeated totalitarianism and terror,” added the President. “And built the strongest, freest, and most prosperous nation the world has ever known. Now is the hour. Our moment of responsibility. Our test of resolve and conscience, of history itself. It is in this moment that our character is formed. Our purpose is found. Our future is forged. Well I know this nation. We will meet the test” in the stare-down with Putin.
By Reynolds’ reckoning, by contrast, Republicans can meet the test in part by repudiating California, New York, and yes, New Jersey.
She is absolutely correct, you should be embarrassed to attack the truth
No other outside country should not interfere with Russia or Ukraine! We are people from there,and it’s no one’s business sticking there nose in. It’s between 2 countries that are the same people. When there was WWll, USA did not help the Eastern European people, they had to scatter to different countries but not the US! USA hands should stay out of their affairs! They have never even ever wanted to join NATO nor EU! All the US cares about changing our born cultures and make us to be someone less culture! Well we will never change that. This government is totally twisted into nothing but very sick mentality, lowlifes.
She is 100 correct. We are far worse off under this administration. Last year Pelosi stood up and ripped President Trumps speech and now the top wants unity. They do not want unity they want submission as they look down from their ivory towers. Time for Republicans to fight like democrats to save our Republic. We the people is who you work for Biden, Harris and friends. We are fed up and tired of you spending our money so you can get richer
