Isherwood Going to the EDA

Veteran operative and former award-winning journalist Darryl Isherwood is leaving Mercury Public Affairs to work for the Murphy Administration.
Isherwood is going to the Economic Development Authority (EDA) to serve as a senior adviser for communications.
Former editor of PolitickerNJ and former senior political reporter at NJ.com, Isherwood worked at public affairs firm Mercury starting in 2014. From the time he worked as a Hamilton beat reporter at the Trenton Times to his three-year helmsman-ship of PolitickerNJ and subsequent stint at the Star-Ledger, Isherwood distinguished himself as one of the state’s preeminent political experts and an old-school reporter.
He is a New Jersey Press Association Award winner and earned recognition by The Washington Post in 2013 as one of the best political reporters in New Jersey.
The official job description from the Governor’s Office is as follows: “Economic Development Communications is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic communications efforts to advance the state’s economic growth through implementation of the Governor’s Economic Plan. The Senior Advisor will closely coordinate with the Governor’s Director of Communications and other senior staff and ensure alignment of communications efforts across all state departments and authorities.”
