Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop wants to run through the tape in the tick down to Election Day – literally.

The Mayor, who’s up for reelection on Tuesday, is running in Sunday’s New York City Marathon.

“Three days till I run the NYC Marathon and 5 days till I run for re-election in Jersey City,” Fulop wrote on Facebook.

“I’m hoping for a big week + personal best,” the mayor added. “I picked up my marathon number today and you can track me race day.”
