Jersey City POBA Backs McGreevey for Mayor

Today, at El Sabor Del Cafe, the Jersey City Police Officers Benevolent Association (POBA) and the Jersey City Police Superior Officers Association (PSOA) enthusiastically endorsed Jim McGreevey in the race to be Jersey City’s next Mayor.

“The POBA proudly endorses Jim McGreevey to be Jersey City’s next Mayor and we are confident that he has the experience and vision to partner with us to ensure Jersey City’s safety and prosperity. We have no doubt that Jim is the right individual to hit the ground running as our next Mayor,” said Joe Cossolini, President – Jersey City POBA.

“Jim McGreevey comes from three generations of Jersey City police. There is no better advocate for our department and we are confident that he will be a Mayor who will work tirelessly to provide us what we need to get the job done right,” said Pawel Wojtowicz, President – Jersey City PSOA.

“I am honored to receive this important endorsement to create a stronger working relationship between City Hall, Jersey City Police Department, and the community. I look forward to working with Jersey City’s finest to provide the leadership and deployment of resources to improve the quality of life for all residents of our city,” said Jim McGreevey.

Together, the POBA and the PSOA represent nearly 1,000 Jersey city police officers and superiors. Their endorsement comes on the heels of Jim McGreevey’s powerful endorsements from labor unions and Hudson County’s Executive-Elect.
