Following the bow-out of the candidate he picked for Congress in the 7th District, Essex Democratic Committee Chairman Leroy Jones plans to have a conversation with Milburn Democratic Committee Chair Annette Romano about the future.

In the meantime, he praised Linda Weber.

“Linda Weber has impressed me with her campaign and her candidacy,” the chairman told InsiderNJ. “She is an extraordinary woman with a plethora of experience that is always welcome in the Democratic Party. We certainly understand her position and we look forward to her continued involvement.”

Jones said he hasn’t yet heard from Democratic Primary front-runner Tom Malinowski.

“If he’s prepared to reach out, the phone lines are open still open to continuing discussions,” Jones said.
