Flanked by party leaders and elected officials, Bergen County Democratic Chairman Paul Juliano announced his endorsement of John Currie for Democratic State Chairman this morning in front of 800 people who made the pilgrimage to Juliano’s annual GOTV breakfast in Fairview.
Juliano released the following statement:
“Bergen County Democrats have always known John Currie to be a tireless defender of our Democratic values and a fierce advocate for inclusiveness, ensuring every Democratic constituency has a voice in our party. During his tenure as State Chairman, he has helped build a party that is representative of our state’s great diversity and Democrats have had unprecedented success, winning in districts, counties and municipalities that were previously viewed as Republican strongholds. John Currie has done a great job as Democratic State Chairman and he has earned my support. I am proud to endorse Chairman Currie and Vice Chair Peg Shaffer for re-election and Bergen County’s ten State Committee members have pledged their votes. I look forward to continuing to work with the State Party, Governor Murphy, our Congressional Delegation, State Legislators and my fellow Democratic County Chairs to make our party stronger and elect Democrats up and down the ballot.”
Governor Phil Murphy and Currie were on hand for the announcement and Sussex County Chairwoman Katie Rotondi, joined Juliano in pledging support for Currie.
