Kean Insists on Process in the Case of Muoio Nomination

GOP Leaders

Amid the backslapping and high fiving in Democratic circles around the elevation of Assemblywoman Liz Muoio to the Office of Treasurer, Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean, Jr. (R-21) presented a sternly unsmiling visage on the legislative landscape.

There was no reveling in Democratic Party excess.

Just a statement of stony responsibility.

“Senate Republicans look forward to the confirmation process when we will have the opportunity to review Assemblywoman Muoio’s nomination as State Treasurer,” said Kean. “I expect our members will examine the extent to which she is prepared to manage the State’s cash flow, finances, and $35 billion budget.”
