Kennedy Hits Van Drew on Healthcare
Following reports that an estimated 5.4 million American workers have lost their health insurance, including over 100,000 in New Jersey, Amy Kennedy released the following statement:
“Jeff Van Drew betrayed the people of South Jersey when he switched parties. Now, Congressman Van Drew is actively supporting efforts to strip millions of their healthcare in the middle of a public health and economic crisis. Our communities deserve a leader willing to stand up for the needs of our people and families and workers across South Jersey need affordable and accessible health care that isn’t tied to employment.
“Congressman Van Drew needs to stop spending his time raising money for President Trump, and start serving the people who elected him to serve,” Kennedy added. “I’m committed to bringing real change in South Jersey, to protecting our families and our workers and to ensuring the well being of our communities through access to affordable health care.”
Kennedy last week secured the Democratic Party’s nomination to go up against Van Drew in the November General Election.
A Democrat as recently s last year, Van Drew switched parties sooner than participate in the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump. Trump subsequently came to Wildwood to participate in a rally with Van Drew, whom he used as evidence that all Democrats don’t oppose him.
