Kim Grabs Endorsement of the Manalapan Dems
Today, Congressman Andy Kim announced the endorsement of the Manalapan Township Democratic Club and County Committee (“Manalapan Dems”) in his bid for U.S. Senate, with members citing his “experience, integrity, commitment to public service, and accessibility.”
This endorsement comes the day before Monmouth’s county convention, where 37 of Manalapan’s convention delegates will head to Long Branch to vote for their choice as to who should be New Jersey’s next U.S. Senator.
“As we look toward the convention tomorrow, I am honored to continue building momentum with this endorsement from the Manalapan Dems, a town I am proud to represent and fight for every day in Congress,” said Kim. “They have witnessed first-hand what I have been able to accomplish and deliver for them as their Congressman, and so I thank them for the trust they have placed in me to represent the entire state as Senator.”
“From our first encounters with Andy during his 2022 campaign in our newly redistricted town through his time as our Congressman; at Town hall meetings where he fielded tough questions with patience, compassion, and on-point answers, and at work in DC, the congressman has shown himself to be someone we could trust and rely on to do what’s right for all of us, for our families and for the communities where we live,” said Manalapan Township Democratic Municipal Chair, Susan Meltsner.
First elected to Congress in 2018 at the age of 36, three-term Congressman Andy Kim is one of the younger members to serve in Congress and is the first Asian American elected to federal office from New Jersey. In 2018 and 2020, he defeated two self-funding millionaires in a district carried by former President Trump, going on to vote to impeach Trump twice throughout his presidency. In 2022, Kim defeated his third self-funding millionaire opponent by 12 points.
In his three terms in Congress, Andy said he has worked hard to lower costs for New Jersey families and help support small businesses through challenging times. Kim described himself as a leading champion in fighting against corruption in our broken politics.
Great news! Hoping the entire Monmouth County vote will favor Andy’s bid and force Mrs. Murphy to agree to a senate block ballot design throughout the state.
