LD15 Flashpoint: Frisby Talking to Family, Leadership Regarding Assembly Seat
Mercer County Freeholder Sam Frisby wasn’t rushing an LD15 run when InsiderNJ spoke to him this morning. He’s not ruling it out, but neither does the Democratic Party establishment transmit urgency that that seat go to a resident of Trenton.
That’s Frisby’s hometown, and Assemblyman Reed Gusciora’s (D-15), too.
And yet, “I’ve got to talk to family,” said Frisby on the heels of a story regarding the likely departure of Assemblywoman Liz Muoio (D-15) to the Murphy Administration to serve as treasurer.
“It’s a win for the state and a real loss for us because Liz is a great legislator,” said Frisby, son of Kaufman Zita insider Jeannine Frisby LaRue. “We’re going to be losing a superstar.
“We’ve got some really good representatives already,” he added, a nod to Gusciora and Senator Shirley Turner (D-15).
Trenton still represents 40-42% of the whole 15th District, he noted.
“I’m going to talk about it with Democratic leadership, and let’s see where we go from there,” the freeholder said. “It’s up to our leadership to have that dialogue.”
