LD16 GOP Assembly candidates Mark Caliguire and Christine Madrid will hold a fundraiser tonight at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster, where President Trump had spent this past weekend.

The hosts of the event are LD21 Senator Tom Kean, running next year in CD7 to attempt to dislodge freshman Democratic Rep. Tom Malinowski; Assembly Minority Leader Jon Bramnick – in a battleground LD21 this year, as he and districtmate Munoz face a challenge from Demcratic Stacey Gunderman and Lisa Mandelblatt; former LD16 Assemblyman and 2021 GOP gubernatorial hopeful Jack Ciattarelli; and Josh Kalafer.

Those attending the president’s namesake golf club teed off at 1:00 p.m. and have dinner at 6:00pm, to the tune of $1,300 individually or $5,200 as a foursome.

Caliguire and Madrid are challenging LD16 Democratic Assembly incumbents Andrew Zwicker and Roy Freiman.

One Democratic source took at the jab at the selected venue, stating, “It’s fascinating that of all the golf clubs to choose from, they selected the only one that brings a political liability with it.”

  1. It is shortsighted to challenge Zwicker. He is the best the Dems have. Waste of political capital.
