LD26 Flashpoint: A Suddenly-Interesting Primary War
She lost her home county, but since then, BettyLou DeCroce has been on a winning streak.
DeCroce was endorsed for reelection last night by Essex County Republicans in her bid to keep her LD-26 seat in the state Assembly.
There are four Essex towns in the mostly Morris County district. DeCroce also won the “line” in Passaic County, which has only one town, West Milford, in the district.
This followed her non-endorsement last week by Republicans in Morris. DeCroce lives in Parsippany.
Morris Republicans picked incumbent Jay Webber and newcomer Christian Barranco.
Passaic picked DeCroce and Barranco. Essex endorsed only DeCroce.
DeCroce said in a statement that the Essex endorsement is a big step “in our march to victory in June.”
If you are keeping score at home in this suddenly-interesting, three-way primary race, DeCroce has two county endorsements, Barranco has two and Webber has only one, albeit the biggest one.
