LD38 Flashpoint: Republicans Affirm Leonard to Run for Assembly Seat

After failing to reach a quorum last month, LD38 Republicans tonight achieved the required attendance to successfully and unanimously sign off on Bill Leonard to run in the Bergen County-centric district in the general election.

A Glen Rock councilman, Leonard serves as director of enrollment management at Bergen Catholic High School.

He is replacing Matt Seymour, who dropped out of the contest and switched his party affiliation to Democrat following the primaries.

Leonard will run on the GOP ticket with Senate candidate Kelly Langschultz and Christopher Wolfe, the other assembly candidate, in a challenge of LD38 Democratic slate mates Senator Bob Gordon, Assemblyman Joe Lagana and Assemblyman Tim Eustace
