LD40 Republicans Unanimously Clear Corrado to Fill Senate Vacancy

Republicans tonight unanimously confirmed Kristin Corrado to fill the LD40 vacancy created earlier this month with the retirement of Kevin O’Toole, who departed for a position at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The GOP gave Corrado the thumbs up at the Barnyard Banquet Hall in Totowa, thereby officially making her the senator-elect in LD40. She will assume the seat the next time Senate President Steve Sweeney (D-3) summons a quorum.

In June, Corrado defeated Bergen County Republican Organization Chairman Paul DiGaetano for the LD40 seat. She is expected to give up her Passaic County Clerk seat to take the senate position, creating a vacancy that Passaic County Democratic Chairman John Currie wants to fill.

  1. It’s quite amusing how you refer to Digaetano as the Democratic Chairman… he may as well be! Congratulations to Senator Corrado!

    • I see they fixed it without acknowledgment, but it was more apropo before when it said Democratic chairman!lol
