Linda Weber Announces Challenge to Leonard Lance

On Sunday, Mother’s Day, Linda Weber, mother of two, community leader, and tech and banking executive, announced on the MSNBC show, AM Joy, that she will seek the Democratic nomination for Congress in the Seventh Congressional District of New Jersey.
Weber, a Berkeley Heights resident and Senior Vice President at IDB Bank, shattered glass ceilings in tech and finance by leading the development of one of the nation’s first customer online banking platforms. A Democrat, she said she he is known in the district for her leadership raising millions for cancer patients and research as the five-time Chair of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life in northern Union County.
“Like many residents in the Seventh Congressional District, I am deeply disturbed by the direction that our country is moving in under the leadership of President Trump and Republicans in Congress,” explained Weber. “From health care to the environment to our failing infrastructure, the values and needs of the Seventh Congressional District are not being represented by Congressman Lance, and what’s worse is that he refuses to put his district and his country over his party. The United States has a system of checks and balances for a reason. I will advance policies to rebuild our neglected transportation infrastructure, safeguard our health care, protect our air and water, and preserve a woman’s right to make her own health choices.”
