MacArthur Stands by His Assertion that Trump Should Not Fire Mueller

A day after the FBI raided the office of the lawyer of President Donald J. Trump, the office of U.S. Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-3) reiterated the Congressman’s position that Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller be allowed to continue his investigation.

“No,” said MacArthur Spokesperson Camille Gallo, when asked if the Congressman believes Trump should fire Mueller.

“Congressman MacArthur has supported Mueller’s investigation since the day he was appointed,” she added.

The most consistent supporter of the President’s policies among those members of the New Jersey Congressional Delegation, MacArthur backed Trump’s effort to put a fork in Obamacare and his controversial budget. But from the beginning the 3rd District Congressman said he backs Mueller’s investigation.

This from nearly a year ago:

I’ve said for months that the possibility of any foreign country interfering with America’s democratic process is deeply disturbing. Robert Mueller is a highly respected law enforcement officer who has served Presidents from both sides of the aisle, and I’m confident that he will aggressively pursue the facts on this critical matter. It’s important that we find out the truth about Russia’s involvement in our election, whether it’s through a special counsel, the FBI investigation, or the House and Senate investigations. Russia should face serious consequences for any involvement in our election.
