Madden Wants to Know What Action Braz Expected from Parikh and Cammarano

In his cross-examination this morning of Justin Braz, state Senator Fred Madden (D-4) tried to extract from the witness his expectations from Raj Parikh and Peter Cammarano after he told them what Katie Brennan said he could share: namely, her belief that an alleged rapist (and member of the Murphy Transition Team) would soon faces charges.

“You told them about the allegation,” said Madden, referring to Braz’s approach of Parikh and Cammarano in late November and early December of 2017 after she signaled he could. “At a minimum, what would you expect them to do?”

“I would expect the two of them to look into the situation,” said Braz.

“And did they?” Madden pressed.

“I don’t know,” said Braz.

After Braz later told Brennan that he had told the transition counsel and chief, he received a subsequent phone call from her when she told him that the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office would, in fact, not pursue charges against Alvarez.
