Marino: ‘A Good Meeting’; Vitale Notes ‘Some Progress’

TRENTON – Mobbed by reporters as he headed from Senate President Steve Sweeney’s (D-3) office back to Speaker Vincent Prieto’s (D-32) digs, Bob Marino of Horizon didn’t give any specifics about ongoing talks.

“A good meeting,” Marino said as he and Prieto strode briskly past suspended microphones and tape recorders.

Prieto echoed that sentiment but likewise provided no details, as he and Marino went back to talk to Prieto’s allies, who gathered in the speaker’s office about 20 minutes ago.

“There’s nothing to report,” said the speaker.

Prieto’s and Marino’s meeting with Sweeney lasted about an hour.

When he appeared moments later, state Senator Joe Vitale (D-19) said he was hopeful of “some progress.”

He didn’t offer his opinion about beach photographs of Governor Chris Christie.
