Mary J. Blige to Attend Mayor Small’s Atlantic City Inaugural Fundraiser
Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small has a message for the friends of Atlantic City as he prepares this Saturday’s Official Inaugural Ball, an event specifically designed to raise money for the youth of his city.
“We have a little over 500K with less than a week left…Can you help us, help the youth of Atlantic City…our New Goal is 600K,” said Small. “This is a 100 percent charitable event with all the proceeds going to Atlantic City Based Youth Organizations. Pass it on to anyone else you may know that’s interested. Thanks and I hope to see you on June 4th.”
In the house will be the queen of Hip Hop soul herself, Mary J. Blige.
“The ‘Together We Rise’ Inaugural Gala is a charitable event. Donations are tax deductible to the maximum extent allowed by law. The Greater Atlantic City Youth Association, Inc. (GACYA) is a non-profit organization (ID# 31954) that will serve as the beneficiary of the 2022 Atlantic City Mayor’s Inaugural Gala, receiving 100% of the event’s proceeds.GACYA will provide funds to the following youth programs:
§ Atlantic City Dolphins – assisting youth participating in little league football and cheerleading programs in developing qualities of discipline, teamwork, and physical well-being.
§ Atlantic City Police Athletic League – giving children in the city the opportunity to participate in everyday activities in a safe and caring environment.
§ Atlantic City Boys & Girls Club – providing resources for the development of young people in Atlantic City.
§ Empowerment Tools Coalition – providing empowerment tools to enhance and enlighten community-based organizations through grant writing, training, coalition building and business resources.
§ Omega by the Sea Foundation – promoting community UPLIFT through volunteer initiatives and philanthropic assistance to deserving groups and individuals in and around Atlantic City since 1939.
