Mayor Vauss Pursues a Third Term with Team Irvington Strong

On Saturday, February 5, 2022, Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss announced his campaign for re-election to a large and excited crowd of over 200 supporters. The lively event was held at the Grand Lodge on Sanford Ave, and hosted by 107.5 WBLS personality, Shaila.

Supporters present included Chairman of the New Jersey State Democratic Party LeRoy Jones, Assemblyman Thomas Giblin, Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo, Essex County Clerk Christopher Durkin, Essex County Commissioner President Wayne Richardson, Commissioner Romaine Graham, Bloomfield Mayor Michael Venezia, Hillside Mayor Dahlia Vertreese, East Orange Mayor Ted Green, West Orange Mayor Robert Parisi, Northward Councilman Orlander Glen Vick, Southward Councilwoman Jamillah Beasley, Westward Councilman Vern Cox, and Eastward Councilman Rev. Sean Evans, Each speaker expressed their unwavering support for Mayor Vauss’ 2022 campaign and their recognition of the hard work Mayor Vauss and his team have done in Irvington during his tenure.

Vauss first became Mayor of the Township of Irvington in 2014 after a landslide win against Wayne Smith, and he has held favor with Irvington voters and officials in neighboring municipalities since.

Vauss is seeking reelection for the third time with Team Irvington Strong, which also includes Council President Renee Burgess, Councilwoman At-Large Dr. October Hudley, and Councilwoman At-Large Charnette Frederic.

“I’m beyond excited to launch my campaign and to have the support of so many qualified leaders who marshal excellence all around the State of New Jersey. My team and I have accomplished so much in the past eight years, and I sincerely look forward to what we can accomplish in four more years,” said Vauss.

Also backing Vauss and his team are Governor Phil Murphy, Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver, Former Governor Richard Codey, Senators Cory Booker and Robert Menendez, U.S. Congressman Donald Payne, Jr., State Senators Teresa Ruiz and Ron Rice, State Assemblyman Ralph Caputo, Assemblywoman Cleopatra Tucker, Former Assemblyman Jamel Holley, Essex County Commissioners Lenny Luciano, Patricia Sebold, and Brendan Gill, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, Paterson Mayor, Andre Sayegh, Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, Belleville Mayor Michael Melham, Mayor/President of South Orange Sheena Collum, Orange Mayor Dwayne Warren, and former Mayor Frank McGhee.

Former Councilman Paul Inman is said to be feeling out a run.

  1. Please do an article on the recent hiring of Farrah Irving who was reprimanded by a Supreme Court judge for dishonesty amongst a host of other things. She is not to be trusted and has joined the Irvington Criminal Enterprise. The tax payers should beware as Irving was noted for her shady behavior in Paterson as well. Just recently I exposed her during a Donaldson Hearing.
