MB Commish Cunniff Notes Omission from Guadagno’s Endorsements of Commissioners With Whom She Served

Monmouth Beach Commissioner Jim Cunniff told InsiderNJ that Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno never asked for the endorsements of the commissioners in the town where she served on the local governing body for two years.

The governing body, including Cunniff, who served with Guadagno, in turn did not endorse Guadagno’s gubernatorial candidacy.

“If you look at all the people who have endorsed her candidacy, there’s a notable omission: the people she served with,” said Cunniff. “I think it says something – something about character. When you look at New Jersey and the condition of our state, I think where we are says something about some of the people running things.”

Cunniff said come Tuesday he plans to vote for Guadagno’s rival: Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli (R-16).

He wouldn’t explicate the exact reasons why he didn’t think much of Guadagno’s tenure as a commissioner.

“I just find it interesting,” he said. “Why wouldn’t you reach out to your own people – your own ‘family’ so to speak?”
