Middlesex County Democratic Committee Chairman Kevin McCabe Backs Leroy Jones for Democratic State Party Chairman.

“I want to thank Chairman Currie for his service to the NJ Democratic State Committee,” McCabe said in a statement. “When he first ran for chair, I endorsed him and supported his candidacy.  However, as I said last summer, it is time for a change of leadership at the NJDSC and it is time to elect a chairman who will unite the Democratic Party and not allow the NJDSC to be used as an instrument to divide Democrats against each other.

“Chairman Leroy Jones has proven time and again that he is the right person to lead our state party. As the chairman of Essex County, he provided unrivaled pluralities for Governor Murphy’s election in 2017 and Senator Menendez’s election this November. Our state party would be fortunate to have someone of his caliber and experience at the helm of the NJDSC.”
