Republican U.S. Senate candidate Rik Mehta tonight overwhelmingly won the Middlesex GOP Convention.

The convention was conducted online.

The victory propels Mehta to 14 total county convention lines in the Republican Primary contest.

“I am humbled by the overwhelming victory in Middlesex County and want to thank Chairwoman Panos, Vice Chairwoman Kulberda, Mr. Don Katz, and the entire MCRO leadership for handling these unprecedented circumstances with care and professionalism,” Mehta said. “It’s time we make New Jersey a place to live, not leave. It’s time to be Jersey Proud!”

The vote tallies in Middlesex tonight were as follows:

Mehta: 151 votes;

Hirsh Singh: 30 votes;

Natalie Rivera: seven votes
