Monmouth County Tops 1,000 COVID-19 Cases as of Monday

FREEHOLD, NJ –Monmouth County Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone and Freeholder Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley have announced that, as of Monday March 30, there are 1,033 positive cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County.

Middletown, where Governor Murphy is a resident, has the highest case count of any town in the county, with 103 cases.

“While this number is undoubtedly high, it is important to note that Monmouth County continues to move down on the list of New Jersey counties with the most cases, and is now seventh,” said Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone. “I want to thank everyone who is doing their part in this fight against COVID-19 and practicing social distancing.”

“The fact that Monmouth County went from having the third highest number of positive cases out of the 21 counties last week, to the seventh highest this week, is a testament to the effectiveness of social distancing,” added Freeholder Director Arnone. “I urge everyone to continue to help slow the spread of COVID-19 by practicing social distancing and staying home when sick.”
