Muller Goes Back to his Old Job as CEO of DACC

After running afoul of departing Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-32) and leaving the NJ Democratic Assembly Campaign Committee (DACC), Michael Muller of Burlington will return to his old job in the new year with the regime of incoming Speaker Craig Coughlin (D-19).

“Friends, I’m proud to share that after a complex political cycle that I’m returning to the NJ Democratic Assembly Campaign Committee as the Chief Executive Officer,” Muller announced on Facebook. “I’m looking forward to working with the caucus towards continued success.”

Muller helped maintain seats in the battleground districts of LD2, LD11 and LD16, and helped the Democrats pick up an assembly seat apiece in LD2 and LD16.

He noted on his page, “Democrats hold a 54-26 majority in the New Jersey General Assembly, which is the most seats since 1973 and is the longest consecutive majority for Democrats in state history.”

As part of the deal that restored Muller to lead DACC, Ray Ferraioli – who is close to Essex County Democratic Committee Chairman Leroy Jones – will head up the fundraising arm of DACC under Muller.

Replaced by veteran Democratic Party operative Mark Matzen (who was installed earlier this year by Prieto), Muller now replaces Matzen.
