Murphy: National Guard Usage Approved for New Jersey
Governor Murphy announced on Friday night that the National Guard has been approved for use in the state by the Department of Defense.
Secretary Esper sent a letter to the Governor writing that ‘this authorization enables your timely use of the Nation Guard to save lives and protect public health’.
The state has 8825 COVID-19 cases as of Friday and 108 fatalities.

The statewide COVID-19 case count as of 1pm Saturday March 28th has topped 10,000, and now stands at 11,124 and a total of 140 fatalities, an increase of 32 deaths in the past 24 hours.
