Governor Phil Murphy, Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver, Mayor Frank Gilliam, adviser Jim Johnson and a cross section of faith, business and civic leaders participated in a conference fall today primarily concerning the youth of Atlantic City.
The first conference call of its kind summoning the input of this specific, Atlantic City-focused coalition consisted of more than 20 individuals who discussed summer youth projects, internship programs and youth-targeted programs.
The call occurred against the backdrop of ongoing discussions about the city’s proposed transition to a city manager form of government in the embattled seaside resort town. That subject apparently did not come up on the call.
A source said the participants on the conference call, which included the city police chief, agreed to keep the coalition intact.
