Murphy Orders Flags Flown at Half Staff to Honor John McCain

Governor Phil Murphy today ordered that the U.S. and New Jersey flags fly at half-staff at all state buildings and facilities in honor of Senator John McCain on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, on what would have been the Senator’s 82nd birthday.

“An American hero, Senator McCain fiercely championed bipartisan efforts in the Senate and, regardless of party, he always strived to put our country first,” said Murphy.
“The nation has lost a hero, but his guiding light will last for generations. We offer our condolences to the McCain family during this difficult time.”
