Murphy To Sign Executive Order Preventing State Funds From Being Used To Separate Families

Governor Murphy announced that he’ll sign an executive order to prevent funds from being used by the federal government to separate families as part of immigration policy.

The Governor said at a press conference this afternoon ‘New Jersey will not be a party to this utterly inhumane policy.  Ever since our founding, you can argue even before, our nation has been a beacon for families seeking freedom and yearning for a bettter life.  President Trump has turned this promise on its head by doubling down on his inhumane and cruel policy to separate families.  Housing children in cages should send chills down the spine of any right-thinking American’.

This morning, LD7 Senator Troy Singleton sent a letter to the Governor urging him to implement the executive order.
