(Camden, NJ) – The second of two new testing centers for COVID-19 opened today in Camden to increase testing capability and bring it closer to home for many Camden residents. The new site located at Dudley Grange Park features designated areas for both vehicular and walk-up traffic and is staffed by personnel from Cooper University Health Care.

The site, located at 3101 Federal Street in East Camden, will be open 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Operating hours are subject to change following the site’s first week in operation to adjust for demand.

Any Camden County resident who has a referral for testing from a medical provider at Virtua, Cooper, CamCare, or other provider, can receive testing at the site by appointment only. To make an appointment, call 856-968-7100 or 856-342-2881 (Monday through Friday 8am-5pm).

“This is now the third site we have stood up to expand testing for the residents of Camden County and based on the data we have collected from our first testing site,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “The only way we can move into the next phase of recovery is to increase our testing capacity as much as possible. Thankfully, through collaboration with our healthcare partners, we have been able to offer an expanding array of testing options throughout the county.”

On Friday of last week, more than 150 tests were given to county residents and as the new site comes online the county expects to double that capacity.

“Testing is one of the most important weapons we have in our fight to stop the spread of COVID-19.  For testing to be effective, it must be widely accessible.  By opening additional testing locations in Camden, we are taking another positive step forward to expand testing options for all communities,” said Kevin O’Dowd, JD, Co-President/CEO of Cooper.

This is the third testing site operated by the Freeholder Board in conjunction with its healthcare partners. Last week the Board opened a site in South Camden located at 2600 Mount Ephraim Avenue, and an additional site remains operational on the campus of Camden County College in Gloucester Township. All sites are open to Camden County residents under the same restrictions as the East Camden site.

The Board’s initial site at Cooper’s Poynt Park discontinued operations on May 1.
