In New TV Ad, Hugin Burnishes Marine Corps Record

Running against U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ), Republican Bob Hugin today released a new television ad called “A Different Kind.”

The ad – which features cameos by former Governor Tom Kean, former Chris Christie minder Bill Palactucci, Republican State Party Chair Doug Steinhardt and Assemblywoman Nancy Munoz (R-21) – highlights Hugin‘s background as a United States Marine and depicts him as a reach- across-the-aisle “bipartisan problem solver” option.

The campaign purchased time for the 30-second spot on network and cable stations in the New York and Philadelphia media markets.

In the ad, Hugin states:

I served my country in the Marine Corps.

And in the Marines, it’s not about Democrats or Republicans it’s about working together.

That’s what we need more of in Congress.

That means being a different kind of Republican.

I am pro-choice, pro-marriage equality, and strongly support equal pay for equal work.
Politicians would rather point fingers. I will be different.  I will lead.

It’s time to send in a Marine.

I’m Bob Hugin and I approve this message.

“Our two new ads outline the very clear contrast in this race.  Bob Hugin will be a different kind of Republican, and work with people in both parties to make New Jersey more affordable, restore honesty and integrity to government, and get our fair share from Washington.  He will be a Senator that New Jersey can be proud of,” said Hugin Communications Director Megan Piwowar.
