NJ Democratic State Committee ED Chris James Launches James Strategy Group
After spending 18 years working on campaigns and in government, well-connected Democratic operative and elected official Chris James is embarking on a new endeavor. Capitalizing on his political experience and governmental expertise James today announced the creation of James Strategy Group which will serve as a full service public affairs and campaign consulting firm focusing on connecting ideas and issues with influential decision makers and groups that will help move their agendas forward.
James has served as the Executive Director of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee for three years. Serving as Chairman John Currie’s campaign point person, Chris was instrumental in the elections of Senator Cory Booker, Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, and Congressman Josh Gottheimer, and helping secure the biggest Assembly majority since Watergate. Additionally he led many more victorious county and local elections. In his new endeavor, James will continue to serve as Executive Director for the New Jersey Democratic State Committee.
Before joining the NJDSC, James – now a councilman in East Orange – worked as Chief of Staff for Speaker Sheila Oliver and Deputy Executive Director for the Assembly Majority office. His duties in these positions stretched from meeting with community groups to navigating important legislative priorities with the understanding that there is always a win-win solution for every issue, he said.
