NJ Operatives Spied in Support of Serve America Victory Fund PAC

Marshall Spevak will be departing from his position as Deputy Director of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. The former Chief of Staff to Assemblyman Mazzeo has worked at the authority since last year.

New Jersey politicos past and present made the trek to New York City last Thursday night for a fundraiser for Congressman Seth Moulton’s (D-MA) Serve America Victory Fund, a PAC that funds service veteran candidates running for the House of Representatives, including New Jersey’s own CD-11 and DCCC Red to Blue candidate Mikie Sherrill. Moulton, a former Captain in the United States Marine Corps served 4 tours in Iraq and earned a Bronze Star.

Thursday nights fundraiser, pushed in large part by New Jersey operative gone national, Jennifer Holdsworth, who serves as a Senior Advisor to Moulton, raised over $1 million. Sherrill, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination in the 11th Congressional District, personally took in over $50,000 for her campaign coffers from the event. NJ political powerhouse Michael Kempner raised significant funds for the event, and his right hand man, veteran fundraiser Rafi Jafri was seen in attendance.

South Jersey political operative and President of the New Jersey Young Democrats Marshall Spevak was in attendance in support of Sherrill and veteran candidates for office. Also spotted at the event was former DACC stalwart Raiyan Syed, who runs a group closely aligned with Moulton in aiding veteran congressional candidates. Alex Ball, who served as Campaign Manager for Congressman Josh Gottheimer’s decisive victory against Scott Garrett in 2016 has resurfaced in another “tossup race” as the Campaign Manager for Jason Crow’s congressional campaign in Colorado, another candidate supported at the event.
