NJ State Workers Move to Hybrid COVID Schedule

New Jersey State Workers are going to a hybrid work schedule for the next two weeks as part of an effort to combat rising cases of COVID-19.

The front office issued a memo this week against the backdrop of ballooning cases of COVID.

The directive curtails workers’ in-office time to two to three days per week.

From NJ.com:

New Jersey on Wednesday reported another 9,711 confirmed COVID-19 cases, shattering the record for the most positive tests the state has announced in any single day during the 22-month-old pandemic — though there are caveats to that stunning figure.

The state also reported another 28 confirmed deaths as it continues to face a new winter surge and the rise of the omicron variant just before Christmas and New Year’s.

Statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to increase again, as well, topping 2,000 patients for two straight days. They have not yet grown at the level they did during last winter, but increases in patients typically follow a week to 10 days after surges in case numbers.
